Meet Dr. Matt Smith
DMD, MSD
Dr. Matt was a general dentist for 4 years when he decided to continue his education by pursuing a career in the specialty of orthodontics. He served as the chief resident at Jacksonville University. He and his family enjoyed their time in Florida and decided to make it home. He is grateful for the opportunity to provide access to quality orthodontic care and create vivid smiles for all.
Background & Education
Dr. Matt is from Missoula, Montana. The “Big Sky” country brought lots of outdoor adventures including fishing, camping, and horseback riding. He enjoyed playing basketball and football in high school and was recruited to play collegiate football for Brigham Young University. He completed a B.S. degree in Finance and worked in the financial sector for a few years before deciding to become a dentist.
He attended the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He went on to attend Jacksonville University where he specialized in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, receiving a certificate and a Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.).
Philosophy
Dr. Matt is dedicated to creating an exceptional experience while treating his patients with upstanding and quality care. While pursuing a trustworthy relationship with his patients, he desires to ultimately make them feel welcome, happy, and comfortable. He considers communication important while creating individualized, vivid, and life-changing smiles for everyone.
Outside The Office
Dr. Matt is married with 3 sons and 1 daughter. He enjoys attending their extracurricular activities such as golf matches, gymnastics meets, dance, and piano recitals, as well as coaching his son’s football team.
Dr. Matt is highly involved in his church, especially the youth programs, where he coordinates and carries out weekly youth activities.
When taking time for himself he often plays basketball, goes golfing, exercises at the gym, or goes for a run. He also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with his family.
